If you’re considering starting your own business, ask yourself these seven questions:

1. Why do you want to work for yourself?
This question sounds simple enough, but don’t take it too lightly. All too often, people look toward self-employment when they’re frustrated with their current job.  However, ask yourself…

Is this business something you really want to do or are you just trying to escape something else? If you’re truly passionate about your business idea, that’s fantastic. So, if you’re just mad at your employer, that’s not a good enough reason to become an entrepreneur.

2. How disciplined are you?Self Employed Jobs-self discipline
Because if you want to work for yourself, you need to be able to self-motivate. This is particularly important at the beginning when you’re just ramping up and don’t have clients or customer demands to meet.

You need to be able to put in long hours in order to set up your website, marketing, blog, and more – and you’ll need to be able to put your nose to the grindstone even when there’s no boss to set your schedule.

3. Do you like to multi-task?
People who thrive in self-employment can get bored of monotony.  So they enjoy networking with new people and learning new skills.  When you run a small business, you’ve got to wear a virtually endless number of different hats…from sales to customer support and IT.

4. Can you be your own salesperson?
You may be a brilliant party planner, graphic designer, PR pro, or landscaper, but working for yourself entails so much more.   Therefore, you’ll have to deal with all the financial aspects of your business: negotiations, contracts, etc. If you’re not comfortable asking for money, you’ll have to get comfortable fast.

5. Can you be financially buoyant for the short term?
One of the main reasons a startup fails is that it doesn’t have enough capital at the beginning.  Be realistic about your financing and don’t try to extend yourself beyond your means. Ideally, you should be able to support yourself for at least 6 months to a year through other avenues – whether that’s your savings, a partner’s income, or a part-time job.

6. Can you sacrifice a steady lifestyle?
It is noteworthy to ask yourself; how important are the following things to you right now at your stage in life: a steady paycheck, 4-weeks paid vacation, employer-paid health insurance?   Since most entrepreneurs will need to forgo such perks for the first few years of their business.   As a result, you’ll need to be able to handle the uncertainty and lean times…both financially and mentally.

7. Are you passionate about what you do?
Yes, running a business is hard work and starting a business from scratch is even harder. But in this case, the adage ‘love what you do and you’ll never work a day in your life’ holds true. Of course, remember that the market isn’t necessarily concerned if you are fulfilling your lifelong dream.

People work from home for many reasons.  Some do it because they have babies and children to take care of.  Others do it to keep a channel of income open post-retirement.  Yet, others do it because of the flexibility it offers.

Since some people can’t commit to a lifetime of commute and petty office politics.  While some want to awaken the dormant entrepreneur inside. Now you can add one more reason to this growing list – working from home pays and pays well!Self Employed Jobs-work from home jobs

1. Medical transcription: Medical transcription, in its most traditional form, involves listening to voice recordings of doctors and other healthcare practitioners and converting them into written reports.

Consequently, more and more of them are now responsible for reviewing and editing documents as well as training physicians in using EHR systems. Medical transcriptionists who work from home receive dictations and submit drafts electronically.

2. Virtual assistant:  Virtual assistants are administrative assistants or secretaries who work from a remote location such as their home.

The job duties range from scheduling appointments, managing databases, and preparing reports to doing online research, making presentations, and even basic bookkeeping. Virtual assistants typically provide their services on a contract basis and can support more than one client at a time.

3. Computer programmer: Computer programmers write code that creates software programs. The code is nothing but a set of instructions that the computer can follow to complete a certain task.

Since IT is one of the flag-bearing industries when it comes to telecommuting, it should hardly come as a surprise that programming is one of the most lucrative work-at-home jobs. Many programmers telecommute or offer their services on a consulting or freelance basis.

4. Writers, authors, and content creators:  Writers and authors develop written content for a variety of media including books, manuals, magazines, journals, television, advertisements, and even online publications. Furthermore, according to the U.S. Labor Department.

Almost two-thirds of writers were self-employed in 2012, which means they worked from home or wherever else they may have access to a computer and an internet connection.  It is noteworthy to know, self-employed writers have a flexible schedule unlike those who work out of an office.  However, the annual income of writers and authors may vary between $27,770 and $117,860.

5. Accountants: Accountants can be called financial health managers as they make sure the finances of individuals and companies are in good shape. Their job duties range from ensuring taxes are paid on time to maintaining the accuracy of financial statements.  Most noteworthy is many accountants work from home in a private capacity but may have to travel to their clients’ offices/homes frequently.

6. Telephone Triage Nurse: Telephone triage nurses offer medical advice to sick patients over the phone. By asking specific questions, these nurses assess the medical situation of patients and refer them to proper healthcare practitioners instead of sending them to clinics or emergency rooms.

In conclusion, customers spend money on products and services that fulfill their own needs and desires.  To turn a profit, focus on how your passion can make a difference to others. In short, when deciding if self-employment is right for you, be sure to consult both your head and your heart.  Then buckle your seatbelt and get ready for an incredibly exciting, tiring, and always rewarding ride.

About Maurice Jackson

Hello, my name is Maurice Jackson I live and, started my business in Detroit. My intentions are, to help any and every one with affiliate marketing as a home business, become a successful professional. My first career was working for the city of Detroit as an inspector, where I thought I would retire. But life brings change and surprises. I sustained an injury that led to an earlier retirement than I had planned. With that said I reinvented myself in April of 2014 and, became part of an affiliate program. Within the time of my reinvention leading up to the present, I am generating lots of traffic to my website and it grows every day. ROI has been minimal but then again I invested nothing to start. I am at the point of letting my site mature, as I keep writing quality content about it. In this business, you have to pay your dues. Furthermore, I and the rest of our family (become a member and you will see the family side of it) of 109000, including the founders of the program (yes they participate), will see to it that we all will be making a substantial amount of revenue as members
